Tomorrow (14.12.2006 Thursday) we are going to visit the award winning project ‘Junior Laboratory School’ in Dhanmondi, designed by DWm4 Architects. The honorable architects will accompany with the Discourse team during the visit and will give their valuable words on the project. Everyone is invited.

Junior Laboratory School is one of the leading Bengali medium schools in Dhaka. This new building of the school was built during the end of the year 2004 as their own campus for up to higher secondary education.

We are sorry to inform that the upcoming discourse with Architect Bashirul Haq which was going to be held on 23rd November 2006 (Thursday) was cancelled, due to unavoidable political situation.

Anyway… we are now glad to announce that the event is going to be held on this upcoming Monday 27th november 2006 at 17:30 at the same place declared before.

Architect Bashirul Haq is one of the most renowned architects in Bangladesh who shows the greatest endeavor on the way of ‘making architecture for Bangladesh’.
His revolutionary vision towards making modern architecture with a vernacular essence deep rooted into the cultural and ethical history of this region sets example to be followed ‘in search of regional identity’ in architecture.
Discourse feels proud to announce that on the next session Architect Bashirul Haq is going to present some of his recent works to us. Participants will get the chance see the excellence and the struggle of the great architect on his way of modern architecture in Bangladesh. And of course this session may also turn into an enjoyable discussion with him.
So don’t miss this event…

After a long break Discourse is coming back featuring an exclusive lecture by Prof. Shamul Wares on the coming Thursday.
He will speak on one of his recent projects in the lecture. This is a single family residence in Gulshan, Dhaka which is his recent endeavor in the journey of powerful and ideal practice of architecture. Of course, people who knows his power and attraction of speaking must know that he will comprise far more aspects of architecture than just the project only.
Obviously missing this exclusive event means missing a lot!
